A DAY IN THE LIFE:
As a Quality Specialist I, you'll be at the frontline of ensuring our hardware and assemblies meet rigorous quality standards before reaching the customer. You’ll perform critical inspections, review documentation for compliance, and collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to uphold quality throughout the production process. Your work will directly impact customer satisfaction and help maintain our reputation for excellence in high-reliability environments.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Inspect & Validate Hardware: Perform incoming and outgoing inspections on printed circuit assemblies (PCAs) and hardware, including soldering inspections per IPC-A-610 standards.
- Review & Verify Documentation: Ensure all test procedures and End-Item Data Packages (EIDPs) are complete, accurate, and compliant with customer and internal requirements.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with engineering, test, and production teams to address quality issues, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions.
- Support Testing & Boards: Witness formal product testing, participate in Test Review Board (TRB) and Material Review Board (MRB) meetings, and report anomalies.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Recommend enhancements to quality control procedures and support documentation development such as work instructions.
- Maintain Inspection Records: Capture photographic evidence, verify in-process inspections (IPIs), and create discrepancy reports to ensure traceability.
- Promote Operational Excellence: Support 5S activities to maintain an organized and efficient lab environment.
YOU’RE AWESOME AT:
- Quality Inspection & Standards Application: Applying IPC-A-610 standards and interpreting complex technical drawings to ensure high-quality builds.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicating effectively with manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues and promote best practices.
- Documentation & Accuracy: Maintaining meticulous inspection records and verifying all deliverables meet compliance and customer expectations.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Associate of Arts (AA), Associate of Science (AS), or relevant quality/auditing certification preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- 3 or more years of relevant experience in quality assurance and manufacturing environments.
- Solid understanding and application of IPC-A-610 standards for soldering inspections.
- Strong analytical and documentation skills with the ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings.
- Experience using databases for quality data input, tracking, and extraction.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and general PC literacy.
- Prior experience in aerospace or similarly regulated industries is a strong plus.
- Self-starter with strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
The starting rate for this position ranges from $31.25 - $38.50 per hour, depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a competitive base salary, Innoflight offers a well-rounded compensation package that includes a Profit-Sharing Bonus and a Cash Performance Bonus to reward both individual and company performance.
