A DAY IN THE LIFE:
As a PCBA Test Technician, you will play a key role in supporting our team during a defined 6–8 week project. In this role, you will be responsible for testing, diagnosing, and debugging printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) at both the system and component level. This short-term assignment requires a mix of electronic hardware troubleshooting and software-driven diagnostics, including Python scripting for test automation. You will collaborate closely with design and manufacturing teams to identify root causes of failures, refine testing processes, and ensure our products meet the highest quality standards throughout the duration of the project.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Test & Validate: Perform functional testing and validation of complex PCBAs according to established test procedures.
  • Troubleshoot Failures: Utilize test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzers) to diagnose and repair at the component level.
  • Analyze Schematics: Read and interpret complex electronic schematics, assembly drawings, and datasheets to trace signals and pinpoint faulty components.
  • Automate Testing: Develop, debug, and maintain Python scripts for automated test sequences, data logging, and hardware validation.
  • Run Diagnostics: Interface with PCBAs using the Linux command line and shell scripts to check logs, run diagnostics, and support debugging.
  • Document Work: Meticulously record test results, failure analysis findings, and repair actions in the company’s tracking system.
  • Collaborate: Partner with hardware and software engineers to support root cause analysis and continuous quality improvements.
  • Adapt: Perform other assigned tasks to support project success.

YOU’RE AWESOME AT:

  • Troubleshooting PCBAs: Skilled at diagnosing and repairing printed circuit board assemblies down to the component level.
  • Using Test Equipment: Proficient with oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Python & Automation: Experienced in writing and maintaining Python scripts for test automation and hardware interaction.
  • Technical Interpretation: Able to read schematics, datasheets, and assembly drawings with accuracy.
  • Collaboration & Documentation: Strong communicator who documents work clearly and partners effectively with engineers.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree or higher in electronics, engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience troubleshooting PCBAs at the component level.
  • Proficiency with standard electronic test and measurement equipment.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret schematics and datasheets.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting for test automation and hardware interaction.
  • Familiarity with Linux command line and basic shell scripting.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Availability for the full 6–8 week project duration.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability
Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026
Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
