A DAY IN THE LIFE:
As a Technical Writer, you’ll be the bridge between technical expertise and clear communication. You’ll support engineering and operational teams by developing accurate, accessible documentation that meets both internal standards and external regulatory requirements. From user manuals to procedures and technical reports, you’ll manage documentation lifecycles from initial draft through final release. Your contributions will ensure the clarity, consistency, and compliance of mission-critical documentation that supports product development, operations, and customer success.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Documentation Development: Plan, write, and edit a range of technical documents such as engineering procedures, operational guides, and process instructions—ensuring clarity, accuracy, and usability
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with engineers, subject matter experts, and operational personnel to gather detailed technical content and translate complex concepts into clear, reader-friendly documentation.
- Manage Document Control: Oversee and execute document control processes, including document numbering, revision tracking, approvals, and controlled release, in compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
- Support Continuous Improvement: Recommend enhancements to documentation workflows, tools, and templates; train technical teams on documentation best practices, security classification, and version control.
YOU’RE AWESOME AT:
- Technical Documentation Expertise: Skilled in creating, editing, formatting, and maintaining high-quality technical manuals and engineering documents that support hardware and software systems.
- Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Proven ability to engage with cross-functional teams to gather technical data, address documentation gaps, and ensure the final product reflects accurate and complete information.
- Process Ownership: Experienced with document change control systems, configuration management, and quality-driven documentation processes in regulated or compliance-heavy industries.
- Project Coordination: Capable of planning and managing documentation timelines, estimating scope of work, and supporting internal and customer reviews with well-organized, professional materials.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Associate’s Degree in a technical, communications, or related field required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- 3 or more years of experience in technical writing, document control, or a related role.
- Technical background with a solid understanding of engineering, manufacturing, or operations environments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other document management tools.
- Hands-on experience with document control systems, version tracking, and change management workflows.
- Strong written communication, organizational, and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Active U.S. Security Clearance is required.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The starting base salary for this position ranges from $85,000 to $105,000 per year, depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a competitive base salary, Innoflight offers a well-rounded compensation package that includes a Profit-Sharing Bonus and a Cash Performance Bonus to reward both individual and company performance. Additional benefits include:
