A DAY IN THE LIFE:
As a Systems Engineer II, you’ll contribute to the development and architecture of cutting-edge space and ground avionics systems. You’ll solve advanced technical challenges, apply systems engineering processes, and transform customer needs into full system solutions. Working cross-functionally, you’ll help ensure the integrity, performance, and success of mission-critical aerospace programs.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Drive Technical Design: Perform detailed engineering analysis and modeling to establish the validity of system architectures. Provide forward-thinking recommendations to optimize subsystem and system performance based on mission and customer objectives.
- Define and Manage Requirements: Lead system requirements definition, flow down, and traceability to ensure end-to-end validation of customer needs. Support architecture definition and ensure alignment with technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
- Support Architecture Development: Participate in architecture definition and support complex problem-solving for advanced software-defined multifunction mission systems. Ensure designs support intelligent, scalable, and secure systems.
- Lead Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with software, network, electrical, mechanical, and firmware engineers to develop integrated system solutions. Contribute to architecture implementation and ensure seamless communication across teams.
- Troubleshoot and Resolve Complex Issues: Provide system-level problem resolution support, performance analysis, and data trending. Develop practical and innovative solutions to technical challenges during design, integration, and test phases.
- Develop Implementation Documentation: Translate high-level concepts into detailed design requirements suitable for efficient hardware/software/firmware implementation and network deployment. Support the generation of procedures, technical documentation, and validation materials.
YOU’RE AWESOME AT:
- Systems Engineering Fundamentals: 3+ years of experience with system-level design, analysis, and implementation in aerospace or related fields.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software disciplines in complex systems.
- Spacecraft Development Insight: Hands-on experience with spacecraft design, integration, testing, and operational support.
- Advanced Troubleshooting: Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex system-level issues in large-scale mission environments.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Systems, or a related field required.
- 3 or more years of experience in systems engineering, preferably in the aerospace or defense industry.
- Demonstrated ability to perform engineering design analysis and troubleshoot large-scale systems throughout the development lifecycle.
- Cross-functional knowledge in aerospace systems, electrical and mechanical engineering, firmware, and software integration.
- Experience with the design, development, integration, and test of complex spacecraft or avionics systems.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and system architecture practices is a plus.
- Excellent technical communication, documentation, and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
- Proven ability to manage requirements, traceability, and systems validation efforts.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
The starting base salary for this position ranges from $125,000 to $140,000 per year, depending on the candidate’s job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a competitive base salary, Innoflight offers a well-rounded compensation package that includes a Profit-Sharing Bonus and a Cash Performance Bonus to reward both individual and company performance.
